Tuesday, September 13th, 2011After several years of carrying and often losing a bulky appointment book, I made the decision to get rid of the planner and start keeping my appointment calendar on my iPhone. To find the most recent offerings, I did a search of the app store for 2012 planner and found a number of apps which were usable for the task. Since I also wanted to put my calendar online so it would be viewable over the Internet, I wanted an app that would sync my calendar with Google Calendar. After testing a few different apps which looked promising, I chose one with a host of offerings I had not even considered. The app I selected sent me text message reminders of each appointment, and I was also able to categorize each item on the calendar, prioritize each item within categories, and even select the skin and layout of the onscreen calendars. Once the app was purchased and loaded, I was able to go online and enter my existing appointments into Google Calendar, which the phone app quickly recognized and updated itself.
