For the past few weeks I’ve been busy with a website called TouchZapp, where I post reviews of iPod Touch applications and games. It’s been taking up a lot of my time and I’m not sure I enjoy doing it. At first it was really exciting but now it’s become somewhat of a burden. I can’t just stop, I’ve worked with several developers who have had their apps reviewed and are waiting to have them reviewed, and I feel like I’d be letting them down. I haven’t been so successful with my readers. The highest amount of visitors I ever had to the site was 97. Since then my numbers have barely touched that, staying around 20-30 per day, with occasional spikes caused by Jobs knows what.
I guess I am mostly discouraged that practically nobody is visiting my site. I mean I can understand why people wouldn’t visit this blog, why should they care what a 19 year old computer nerd has to say? But I thought TouchZapp would be a useful website for hundreds, if not thousands, of people to use. Maybe I set my bar to high. The point is TouchZapp is causing me stress. I have over 700 new app descriptions that I haven’t skimmed yet, a few unanswered emails, and another daily review to write. I’m 19 I’m too young to be held down by all this stuff. Plus I have school coming up and what am I going to do then?
Well I’m stuck, so I’m asking you, my readers, for some advice.
Today I recieved a comment from a guy who I assume is named Phil. It said:
I wish nobody donated a dollar to you; you should’ve been happy with the computer you had.
You don’t have witty banter on this blog; you’re a narcissistic fool.
Keep blogging, hardly anyone reads it anyway.
I was thrilled with this constructive comment that I took the time to send him an email personally.
Hello Phil, I assume thats your name based on your email. I appreciate the comment, and am thrilled you enjoy my blog. I will indeed keep blogging when I have the time, and I’m glad you are included among my fans. You seem like a nice person, will you be my friend? Also, I’m not sure if you’re aware, but the URL you’ve listed leads to a popular social networking site.
Have a wonderful day. All the best.-Graham Hall
Hello all. Just wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Eat lots of turkey, and stuff.
I’ve started a new website called TouchZapp.com, a website that reviews iPod touch apps. Suffice to say I won’t have a lot of time to blog here much anymore, but I will always do it when I have a chance.
A little bit of surfing around the internet led me me to discover this pic of President Elect Obama with a Mac and an iPhone. I don’t care what your political affiliation is, you gotta admit, the man has taste.
I’ve been waiting for Wii Music for what seems like an eternity. It seemed like a cool concept, perfect for the air guitarist in all of us. Unlike games like Guitar Hero, you don’t have a Fisher Price replica of the instrument you are playing, instead you use the Wii Remote and Nun-chuck Attachment in various combinations.
Now I’m all for using your imagination, it’s one of the things I advocated for in my review of Spore. Imagination is what keeps our mind going, but it crosses the line when your dad walks in on you flailing your arms around conducting a virtual orchestra, or playing invisible drums. I don’t know how I looked, but I felt like a complete retard, of the Forrest Gump variety. (Play Forest! Play!)
Yes, I said it. MMORPGs SUCK!!! For those of you who don’t know what an MMORPG is, it stands for “Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game”. Perhaps you may have heard of one of the more popular ones, World of Warcraft, but they’re all pretty much the same when you get right down to it. There’s not much multiplayer about them, you basically run around in a large world with other people, but you’re each playing your own single player game.
A friend of mine is working on what I think is going to be an awesome website, dubbed Kwyno. In short, Kwyno is “a revolutionary way to browse the web, connecting the internet, one website at a time.” It’s currently not up, but you can sign up for the beta which should be ready by December 10th.
I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at Kwyno, and it’s pretty cool. Though I’m not allowed to reveal too much about it, suffice it to say it’s a very intuitive way to interface with Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Google Maps, and more. I think it’s going to be the next big thing on the internet, right up there with….well all the services it integrates with. It has that “wow, I wish I’d thought of that” kind of vibe about it, which, to me, totally screams awesome.
I wish my friend, who prefers not to be named at this time, the best of luck with Kwyno, and I can’t wait until I can play with it some more when the beta launches. Just a reminder, if you’re interested, sign up for the beta today!
There are very few movies I can say made me feel like I was going to vomit. Even the pile of garbage that was Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was able to keep my stomach in line, but thats not to say I didn’t become dehydrated after losing 99% of my bodily fluid by bawling my eyes out.
Alright to be fair, Cloverfield had a very interesting concept; one of the main charachter spent the entire movie filming all the action, and did the shoddiest camera work I’ve ever seen. Continue reading »
